As a Flagship ‘Food for Life’ school, we are immensely proud of the food culture we have developed in school. Over 90% of pupils eat our school lunches, which are cooked fresh from scratch every day in our designated kitchen by our own staff. Our ‘pavilion’, built in 2011, is purpose designed to support a pleasurable and enjoyable eating experience. Many pupils eat all three meals a day with us. We grow a range of vegetables in our school garden, which are used by the kitchen, which supports our pupils to understand both about healthy eating and also sustainability issues.
We use food celebrations as a way to bring families in to school, and our community evenings are always a delicious culinary tour of the world!
We support other schools in taking their meals in-house, and in developing a positive food culture in schools.
