JLT join hundreds demanding Free School Meals for All!
On 23 July, our Junior Leadership Team joined over 200 people in Parliament Square to demand Free School Meals for all primary school children in England. Supported by musicians and MPs, the event highlighted the urgent need to address child hunger.
Proud Year 6 Children share ‘E Portfolios’
Our Year 6 students showcased their E-portfolios, highlighting a diverse range of skills and achievements. This initiative empowers them to take ownership of their learning and reflect on their growth. Proud parents witnessed dreams and aspirations come to life.
A Summer of Shows, Citizens, and Sport!
Summer wrapped up with a flurry of activities showcasing our children’s core values. From the vibrant Summer Festival by the beach to an exhilarating sports festival and inspiring performances at the Citizens UK General Election Assembly, it was a term to remember!
Sports Stars Visit SSq!
Olympic Champion Ellie Simmonds and local jockey Khadijah Mellah recently visited SSq, inspiring students with their stories of perseverance and success. They shared insights on overcoming challenges, balancing training during Ramadan, and embracing uniqueness. Their visits left a lasting impact on our students.
Community Evening Returns!
At the heart of SSq’s Community Evening was the exploration of belonging, showcasing projects inspired by global goals and our school’s commitment to fostering change makers. A blend of performances, shared meals, and engaging discussions underlined the event’s success.
Winterfest 2023 sees SSq stars shine!
Well done to all the amazing children at SSq who performed in this year’s Winterfest performances. The theme was Community at Christmas and the SSq community did NOT disappoint! A variety of songs were performed, including reworked classics and stand-out performances. Live instruments were showcased, adding to the musical magic. Autumn Highlight – Aspiration Fortnight at SSq!
Aspiration Fortnight was a highlight of the Autumn Term at SSq. Former pupils returned to share their diverse career paths, inspiring the children. The week included speakers from various professions, and ended with ‘Dress as your Aspiration’ Day. The children loved the event, expressing their excitement for future dreams. We extend our gratitude to all the volunteers and encourage anyone interested in sharing their career path to reach out to Chilo or Megan at school. Citizens Agenda Launched at SSq!
It was a joy to welcome so many friends from across South London Citizens to Ssq, to spend time with each other and discuss our shared priorities for the next general election.
Summer Festival Success
Well done to all the performers, tutors, staff and visitors for making SSQ Festival 2023 such a success! From sea shanties to Bolivian dancing, the audience were treated to a wide range of entertainment that went down an SSq storm!
