A Summer of Shows, Citizens, and Sport!

Our Community

Summer term ended in July with our children showing all the core values in abundance. Here we share some of the highlights of a very busy term!

Festival by the Beach

Our yearly Summer Festival united the community on a lovely midsummer evening. Children and families had fun with games, face painting, food, and drinks. Our Key Stage 2 musicians wowed everyone with their impressive performances. A big thank you to all the adults and teachers who helped make this event a success!

The Choir and school band perform a number of hits.

Sport for all!

In July, Quentin and the sports team (Michael and Nick) hosted an amazing sports festival. Children from Reception to Year 3 participated in thrilling and competitive activities at school, with many parents and carers cheering them on. It was wonderful to see the children's enthusiasm for sports. Years 4, 5, and 6 had the chance to visit Reed’s School in Surrey to use their extensive sports facilities. Quentin and the team put together another fantastic event that highlighted all the core values across various sports and disciplines. Congratulations to Finn for winning the adult egg and spoon race…

JLT and Choir rock the Citizens UK General Election Assembly

It was an honor to see our choir and Junior Leadership Team (JLT) participate in the Citizens UK General Election Assembly in Westminster. The choir kicked off the event with a powerful performance of "Power in Me," setting the tone for an evening filled with pledges and solutions. Angela Rayner, Richard Newby, and Sara Gezdari each presented their visions for change before a crowd of 2,000 people. The children represented the school admirably, reminding us of the importance of campaigning for change. It was also wonderful to hear one of our parents share their housing story and see another on the big screen. The evening was truly inspiring. Thanks to Fi, Molly, and everyone who made it possible.

Year 6 spread Rumours to make their point!

Year 6 wowed us with their amazing show, Rumours. They wrote, created, and performed it all by themselves. They also managed the backstage crew, front of house team, and tech team. The performances were incredible, featuring original songs as well. It truly felt like a West End production.

The show focused on how the spreading of rumours about new arrivals can only lead to trouble. In light of the recent rioting in August, the Year 6s showed us how we must show compassion and not jump to conclusions in these situations. The children wanted to make sure this message was put across and we are all so proud of them for doing it in such a mature and professional way.

Big congratulations to everyone in Year 6 and a huge thank you to the Year 6 team for making this possible—special thanks to Debbie, Quentin, and Pat for their support and to Netra and Chris for their creativity and tireless rehearsals that brought the show to such a high level. Thank you also to all the parents and carers who came to watch and support. We hope you all enjoyed it!
