SSq Newsletter – 24th September 2025

Newsletter

Dear Families,

In assembly this week, we continued our focus on the value of Respect, with a spotlight on Dyslexia Awareness. We explored how dyslexia is not a problem to be fixed – but a different and powerful way of thinking and learning. We looked at how many incredible inventions have come from people who think differently, including the lightbulb, the aeroplane, and the telephone. The children learned that some of the greatest innovators in history had dyslexia – and that thinking differently can lead to amazing things. You can watch the video we shared here.

Our Meet the Teacher meetings continue this week. Thank you to all the parents and carers who have already attended. It’s been lovely to welcome so many of you into school to hear about what’s planned for the year ahead. If your session is still to come, we’d love to see you there (See below for remaining dates and times)!

Wednesday is our very first Languages Day at SSQ! This special day is part of our ongoing work to drive and celebrate multilingualism across the school. With over 36 languages spoken in our community, we’re excited to give children the chance to explore and enjoy the richness of different languages and cultures, and to continue building pride in the many identities and stories that make up our school.

Enjoy the end of your week!

Matt
