Joy Time
Joy Time, which is linked to our value of enjoyment, is a weekly lesson that supports the teaching of social skills. All children get to spend time with their friends and the adults in their classroom engaging in a variety of activities such as: board games, Lego, arts and crafts and music. Through these activities they are taught skills that will enable them to be graceful winners and losers, know how to take turns and how to manage conflict with guidance from their adults.
Health and Relationships Teaching
This annual personal excellence unit teaches the fundamental building blocks and characteristics of positive relationships.
Projects that promote collaboration
One of the “whys?” of our project curriculum is to intentionally teach these wider skills. We know that learning to work as a team is a critical skill and building strong relationships is key to this.
